Samson & Renee Harp are the Heart & Soul of the world famous Pacific Rootz Tātau on Samson's birth sands on the beautiful island of Maui, Hawai'i.
Here on Maui their Tattoo studio is simply known as (DaRootz)
Maui's historical and very own first ever Native Hawaiian owned and operated Tattoo studio.
They are Kihei, Maui's Original longest running and most trusted Tattoo studio by locals and visitors alike as well as Maui's longest owner/operated Tattoo studio.
They are a dedicated husband and wife team with Samson as the full time Maui born and raised Tattoo artist, and the beautiful and caring Mrs. Harp (Māmā Rootz ) running the business and management side of the Family business with their youngest daughters Kapua 12, Na'ulu 10, and Tutupu 7 learning the family bussines and craft directly from Mom & Dad :)
Samson Harp is a full time international award winning, published and sponsored Tattoo artist who takes great pride and care in the craft of tattooing as well as being highly sought after, respected and recognized within his community as a cultural specialist who finds great wealth and healing through ancient cultural knowledge and uses what knowledge he has acquired over his life from many of his esteemed elders, contemporaries, academic study and simple practical thinking and function to apply into his work today as traditional and contemporary artist and craftsman.
Samson holds high with love, care and great respect his island Heritage culture and tradition and also feels comfortable about being creative and bringing into his work forward progress and innovations. it's all about the time, the place and the person from his point of view and beliefs.
Tattooing Maui since his early teen years in 1992 he felt extremely blessed and fortunate to meet Thomas and Nancy Valerio former owners of Island Ink Tattoo in Pa'ia, Maui and start a formal apprenticeship under them during his High school years in 1997 and became licensed in 1999 to eventually branch out and open his 1st studio in 2001 and is ever greatful for all the hands involved in helping to shape and guide his future in the craft and career in the world of Tattooing.
Specializing in traditional and contemporary Pacific Island style of tattooing he is a well rounded artist that enjoys all styles of art and tattooing.
