First session done of the beautiful piece using a combo of World Famous Ink & Empire Graywash Series, for the lovely Bianca 🖤Bianca’s mum was born with a heart condition called TOF which is Teratology Of Fallot, basically a hole in her heart. She’s been in and out of hospital since she was 8 years old. This year she went for a pulmonary valve replacement because that valve was leaking and underwent an open heart surgery that lasted 8 hours! “When we saw her the next day she had needles and drips everywhere it was a shocking sight and I remember her saying “dis nie vir sissies nie” and when she finally came home we spoke about her experiences there and the one thing that she kept on saying was that none of us will ever be able to understand the pain she went through and that’s when I thought about getting the tattoo because I’m terrified of needles and she was stabbed with them almost every time she went to hospital. Getting this tattoo was to try and understand the pain she went through and the mermaid of course symbolizes a mythical creature; strong and powerful, just as my mom has been her whole life.”
