La Marca Body Art Studio

Located in the historic district of Old Havana, La Marca is a professional tattoo shop-gallery headed by Leo Canosa, an artist with two decades of experience in the tattoo world. The team also includes another five tattoo artists and graphic designers and, from time to time, guest artists from Cuba and overseas. La Marca´s artists specially enjoy collaborating with clients to design creative and long lasting custom tattoos. They are attracted to most art and tattoo styles and are versatile enough to take on most of them: larger projects involving flowing compositions with an illustrative approach, New School, graphic style, Illustrative, Black and Gray, Asian inspired or portraits. Also one of the artists prefers the traditional way, stick and poke, without electric machines, and his style feeds on old school, American traditional, illustration and graphic design. Walk-ins accepted. La Marca is also considered an alternative cultural institution that blends the art of tattooing with other visual arts, theatre, dance, literature, graphic design and music, with a focus on community outreach and culture for development and gender equality. The art gallery showcases bi-monthly exhibits and performances from new artists, concerts and creative workshops aimed to children, the youth and specialists, among other cultural actions. This offer is complemented with a gift shop that features limited editions of artisanal works. La Marca is often inserted in the circuit of events and cultural projects organized by other private and governmental institutions and its team collaborates with their experience while offering the physical space for workshops and conferences. Con sede en el Centro Histórico La Habana Vieja, La Marca es un estudio professional- galería de tatuajes, dirigida por Leo Canosa, artista con dos décadas de experiencia en el mundo del tatuaje. El equipo está integrado por otros cinco artistas tatuadores y diseñadores gráficos y, eventualmente, artistas invitados de Cuba y el extranjero. Los artistas de La Marca especialmente disfrutan de la colaboración con los clientes para crear diseños personalizados, creativos y duraderos. Ellos se sienten atraídos por la mayoría de los estilos artísticos y del tatuaje: los mismo grandes proyectos con composiciones armónicas, New and Old School, estilo gráfico, Illustrativo, Black and Gray, asiático, realismo o retratos. Además, uno de los artistas prefiere el método tradicional (stick and poke), sin máquina eléctrica, y su estilo bebe del Old School, traidicional americano, ilustración y diseño gráfico. Se aceptan Walk-ins. La Marca es además centro cultural alternativo a partir de la mezcla del tatuaje con diversas manifestaciones de las artes visuales y plásticas, el teatro, la danza, la literatura, el diseño gráfico y la música. Exposiciones y presentaciones de artistas nobeles, conciertos y talleres de creación dirigidos a públicos diversos tienen sede en La Marca. Su oferta se complementa con una tienda con artículos de carácter artesanal, en ediciones limitadas y con un marcado énfasis en el diseño e impulso a la obra de autor.
