Where art and bespoke design for our clients comes first. Every time. Located approx 3 miles from Liverpool city centre our brand new Wirral studio is where artist Lewis Sherlock specialises in black and grey realism with real attention to detail.
After establishing himself as an airbrush artist as well as commissioning in pencil, watercolour and oils, Lewis began his tattoo career in 2014. Drawn to realism in all art mediums and on a continuous search for a better understanding of how light affects an image it was around this time he also began learning photography; something he did professionally for a time alongside tattooing when his tattoo career took him travelling parts of Europe in 2017. All these mediums combine to underpin his depth of knowledge in realism art.
Now returned and established in his home town, Nomad Ink is gaining a reputation for sophisticated design and detailed work. It is important to us as a studio that modern tattoo techniques and innovation in this fast moving industry are part of our forward thinking ethos. As such, in addition to continued learning in different art mediums (because after all - if you can't draw it you definitely shouldn't be tattooing it) Lewis also attends advanced tattooing seminars with award winning international realism artists to ensure he continues to learn and train with the best. This is an approach we will be taking with our new apprentice who having joined Nomad Ink in 2019 is working towards translating her incredible illustrative/neo-traditional style art work to a career as a tattoo artist.
Now enjoying tattooing many of his own designs, customers come to Lewis if they are looking for portrait or other realism work with elements of surrealism. Images that tell a story, adapted in a way that creates tattoos that stand the test of time.
