Had it just to know what it was like having one done having grew up hearing runours about the intense pain or the intense thrill of having one finally done. Pulled a sicky off work to get it done in the morning then went to work anyway after it was done. Funnily enough my work was about 10 doors down opposite the same high street. Was minimal pain but i soent half the time forgetting the tattoo was being done die to being in deep conversation with the artist troughout. The insiration came from pinterest and its of my start sign...Capricorn.This was a super emotional piece for me to work on, and I want to shout out to Michelle for entrusting me with such an important and meaningful project. The lotus flower over her heart is dedicated to her husband who very recently passed away due to cancer. This particular flower was chosen because of how deep its roots grow, causing it to be difficult to pull out of the earth by the roots, which holds a lot of symbolism for the two of them. For those who don't know, I lost my father to cancer nearly six years ago. Much of the conversation between Michelle and her daughter (who was with during the tattoo for moral support) regarding life moving forward, firsts (holidays, birthdays, etc.) without him, and interacting with people who know the situation, really hit home for me. My heart goes out to the friends and family during their journey through healing. Tattooing Atul was one such experience. Atul wanted a dragonfly tattoo with a name of a lady that gels into the design and no one can see it unless explained. Over the course of our conversation he said that he was in a relationship with this lady and possibly looking at getting married, but then tragedy stuck and she passed away in a accident. He decided to get this tattoo cause of a promise he made to her.
