Tattoo Artists Being Trained To Spot Signs Of Skin Cancer
Selected tattoo artists in the West Country (UK) are being asked to help diagnose skin cancer.
BBC News reported this month that consultants from Bristol's Southmead Hospital are educating tattoo artists in the region about how to spot the warning signs of skin cancer on the clients they tattoo.
According to BBC Bristol: "Melanoma is the fifth most common cancer in the UK, and the most prevalent skin cancer in people under 50."
The BBC's Scott Ellis interviewed Bristol-based tattoo artist Ben Boston who ended up saving one of his customer's lives.
Ben spotted changes in colour and size of a mole on one of the clients he tattooed regularly.

Ben Boston is a tattooist based at The Tattoo Studio in Bristol, UK.
The below documentary video was made last year and gives an insight into the tattoo artist's working life.
